Worth the driveOrganized practice:NoPCC in effect:noField:75 playersWish I'd known: Hope Valley is a high-end private club, and it shows — greens, fairways, and facilities are all in impeccable shape. That polish comes with a catch worth knowing before you show up: there's no practice round availability for the qualifier. The only way onto the course beforehand is through a member relationship. If your player advances into the tournament proper, participants are allowed a practice round — but not before qualifying. The course itself doesn't go easy on you. Fairways are narrow, and the greens are fast — genuinely fast — and unforgiving. Miss a green here and you'll pay for it; this isn't a track that rewards recovery shots. Plan for a demanding, high-precision day, not a bomb-and-gouge one. Logistics are well handled: snacks at the tee box, coolers at every other hole, and rules officials in ample supply throughout the course. Bottom line: Impeccable conditions, tough test, zero practice-round intel to lean on unless you know a member. Prepare mentally for narrow fairways and fast greens, and don't expect to walk the course cold beforehand.
